Hornets First XI Cricket Team

The Heritage School First XI played three matches this week to start the 2014 Season. We won all three matches which has given the team great confidence for the season ahead. Well done boys the Heritage School is proud of your achievement this week.

The first match played on Tuesday 2nd September was against Hamilton’s. Our team won by 44 runs. Scott Austin powered his way to 64 runs not out! Charlton Chikange bowled exceptionally well with a 4 wicket haul and a 2.12 economy rate. A great way to start the season.

The second match played on Wednesday 3rd September was against Mazoe Boys School. The Heritage School boys pulled off a mammoth victory of 121 runs. Shahmeeran Zia and  Panashe Mundondo scored an impressive 35 and 34 to help Heritage with its biggest ever victory. Shahmeeran also had a 5 wicket haul and an economy rate of 2.75 not bad for a spinner!

The third match played on Thursday 4th September was against Conway High School. The First XI won this close game by 3 wickets. An excellent performance by the Hornets which rewarded them in a close victory. This was a long match with a great deal of disciple shown by the heritage team. Panashe Mundondo showed a great deal of maturity in his innings and made 44 runs to help the Hornets to a great victory. Scott Austin, Charlton Chikange, Shahmeeran Zia all took 3 wickets.
