On Saturday 31st May 2014 the Senior Debate Society consisting of Tichafara Chingore, Nyasha Kuruneri, Allan Mpofu, Simon Ndhlovu, Vanessa Mukondo and Nneamaker Oguejiofor did the school proud.
They participated in the Dollar Debate Tournament, a charity debate hosted by Arundel School to help raise funds for a children’s home. The Heritage School won first round against Arundel School on the topic “This house believes that violent video games and violent movies have negative influence on children”. Nyasha Kuruneri proudly scooped the best speaker prize. The second round saw our debate team again emerging victors against St Georges College and the topic was “This house believes that sex education should be promoted in schools”. The overall points standing at semi-final level placed The Heritage School in 3rd position out of 10 schools. Allan Mpofu qualified for the second round and he was the best speaker. Well done to our Senior Debate Team.
