A BRITISH EMBASSY
OPEN-AIR PRODUCTION

Tickets available at the Heritage School Bursars office

To mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare, the British Embassy in Zim have arranged for one of Shakespeare’s leading comedies, “Much ado about Nothing”  to be staged at the beautiful residence of the British Ambassador next weekend.

The director, Adrian Ellis, majored in Shakespeare at Cambridge and has adapted this play to a modern 1969 setting that sounds a lot like James Mitchener’s book “The Drifters”. In this play a musical travelling band arrives in one of those famed VW “Peace” Kombis. Much Ado tells the story of a house party hosted by Leonato at which comedy, romance, villainy, drama and tragedy combine to bring Benedick and Beatrice to acknowledge their love for each other.

Much Ado about Nothing promises to be a classy event with Mulled wine (Gluvine) and Irish Coffee being served to warm the hearts of the audience. Blankets will be on sale for $10 each any blankets that are handed back at the end of the performance will be donated to a charity.

Tickets can be bought at The Heritage School for the Friday and Saturday shows at $12.00 a ticket.

This will definitely be one of those “Must Do “ shows for Harare this year – hope to see you there
